Galway is also a Gaeltacht area which is an Irish language speaking region. Radio na Gaeltachta and national Irish language television station TG4 are based in Galway. Lough Corrib, which is the largest lake in the Republic of Ireland, and the Twelve Bens mountain range in Connemara are the two most dominant topographical features in the area. Killary Harbour is a 16 kilometre long fjord that forms the border between Galway and Mayo. It is one of only 3 glacial fjords that can be found in Ireland. Galway's climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream and because of this it receives more than its fair share of rainfall which averages 1300mm annually but gets up to 2000mm in places.
